O-Block Louie, a close friend and associate of the late King Von, shared insights into his friendship with the rapper, their shared upbringing in South Side Chicago, and Von's unlikely rise to fame following an acquittal on murder charges. Growing up in a tough neighborhood, Louie praised Chief Keef for the spotlight he shined on the Chicago hip-hop scene and for opening doors for local talent, which included Von, who also hailed from the city's South Side. As for King Von, his life took a drastic turn after he was acquitted of murder and attempted murder charges in 2017. Embarking on a music career, his talent quickly helped him break into mainstream hip-hop. However, Louie indicated that the violence depicted in their music was a reflection of the harsh realities they experienced growing up and wasn't merely crafted for entertainment.
