Former NBA player Sebastian Telfair expressed his anger at the fallout between Kobe Bryant and his parents over his wife, Vanessa Bryant. The conversation arose in relation to the sale of the late Kobe Bryant's memorabilia by his parents. Telfair shared his empathy with Kobe, admitting that his own relationship with his family was strained after he went against his parents’ advice in marrying his wife. He finds it hard to comprehend Kobe's situation, expressing disbelief over the alienation between him and his parents over money and relationships, finding it ultimately “laughable.” Despite his own difficulties, Telfair stressed the importance of family bonds over any sport, profession or even spouse, and voiced his regret over Kobe's situation with his parents. He disclosed that he’d never act the way Kobe did but maintained that he found it tough to judge him posthumously.
