In a candid interview with Trenches News, he offered details behind becoming an informant for the FBI and helping to arrest a corrupt Chicago police officer. He shared how he had been subjected to recurrent harassment by Sergeant Ronald Watts, leading to a purchase of silence by dropping drug charges. Watts abused his power, even going to the lengths of implicating his mother on false drug charges. Trenches News decided to report this to a higher authority, to which he ended up working with the FBI to expose Watts. Eventually, his tip-offs paid off when Watts was sentenced to 22 months in federal prison for stealing drug money from a federal informant. Notably, over 200 convictions linked to Watts' unit were dismissed, and Watts was found to have been extorting money from local drug dealers. Despite some disagreements about protocol, Trenches News expressed no regrets for his role in Watts' downfall.
