--------
Bill Haney was 21 and just a young impressionable adult when he fell victim to peer pressure and got involved in a drug ring that saw him serve approximately 40 months in prison. Haney was taken into custody at an airport, allegedly participating in a cocaine smuggling operation. He maintains that it wasn't the drugs found on him that led to his arrest but the conspiracy of his participation. Upon reflection, Haney sees the sentence as a blessing in disguise, giving him an opportunity to align his life view with the right values. During his incarceration, he faced the harsh reality of not witnessing the birth and early years of his first child, an experience he describes as the 'hardest thing.' Haney now uses his story to caution younger boys against the allure of fast money and immediate success offered by illicit involvement such as drug peddling.
