1090 Jake discussed the underlying causes of prison violence, revealing that a surprising amount of it is rooted in issues involving women. When asked what percentage of adult inmates are locked up due to situations linked to women, Jake estimated that it might be around a quarter or less. Most inmates, he noted, are imprisoned primarily due to drugs or first-time offenses like robbery and burglary. However, Jake highlighted that while drugs dominate the reasons for incarceration, much of the violence within the prison is ignited by women. He illustrated scenarios where disputes arise over relationships with female correctional officers or conflicts sparked by phone calls and photos of women. In one instance, he described how a single phone call where a girlfriend reveals infidelity can lead to a violent outbreak.
