In this clip, Anthony Arillotta delves into his rise within the criminal underworld following his involvement in the murder of Adolfo "Big Al" Bruno, the Genovese family boss. Arillotta detailed how Bruno, who had become the official boss of the Genovese family in Connecticut and Massachusetts in 2001, started to show weaknesses due to age and legal troubles. Amidst a racketeering case and his declining faculties, Bruno's days as the leader were numbered.
Arillotta, who was made in 2003, was intricately involved in the plot to demote and ultimately eliminate Bruno. By November 2003, Bruno was murdered, marking a significant power shift. Arillotta's direct ties to the Genovese family bosses in New York positioned him as a formidable figure. His alignment with the most powerful family outside of New York brought him to the forefront, and he officially took over the Springfield operations from 2003 until his cooperation with law enforcement.
