Courtney argued that Deal, a former parole officer, presents himself as a street-savvy insider but lacks consistent accuracy in his accounts, especially regarding the night that legendary rapper Biggie Smalls was killed. While Vlad noted that Deal's portrayal of that night was reasonably accurate, other aspects of his timeline and interactions, particularly involving firearms and shady characters, are questionable. Courtney, who became aware of Deal through his involvement in investigating rap-related crimes, recounted multiple instances where Deal was seen as suspicious by colleagues and even involved in dodgy situations in Harlem.
