--------
Rising Los Angeles rapper Lefty Gunplay shared insights into his tumultuous upbringing and the factors that led him to join a gang. Born to a Guatemalan-Mexican mother and a White father from Mississippi, who later became a stockbroker in Florida, Lefty grew up without his dad's presence, leading to significant challenges. Feeling the void left by his absent father, Lefty turned to the streets in search of guidance and a sense of belonging. His father's absence fostered resentment and contributed to Lefty's decision to join a gang during his early teenage years in Baldwin Park, where he grew up in a trailer park environment.
