Lil Woody opened up about his harrowing experience during his nearly five-year stint in federal prison. Serving the longest stretch of his life, Lil Woody faced myriad challenges, not least among them surviving violent encounters. He poignantly recalled the tragic loss of his brother, who was killed during an attempted robbery, a loss that deeply affected him while incarcerated.
Lil Woody described one of the most violent altercations he found himself in. Despite generally keeping to himself, he became a target. He recounted being jumped in his sleep by a group of inmates, two of whom teamed up against him. Although initially outmatched, Lil Woody did not go down without a fight, hitting one of his assailants in retaliation. Reflecting on the experience, Lil Woody admitted to still struggling with the anger and the desire for revenge, underscoring the emotional and psychological toll imprisonment can take.
