1090 Jake opened up about his upbringing in Boston and his proximity to infamous mobster Whitey Bulger's former stronghold. Jake described South Boston as a “White ghetto,” characterized by large Irish-dominated housing projects. The notorious Winter Hill Gang, led by Bulger, was a fixture of Boston lore, with a legacy of fear and violence. Jake recalled how Bulger's reign was largely untouchable due to his cooperation with an insider in the FBI, allowing him to remain at large despite incriminating activities against his Italian rivals. Whitey Bulger met his end in prison at the age of 89 when he was murdered by fellow inmates. Despite this brutal demise, Jake noted the lasting impression Bulger left on Boston's criminal history.
