--------
Former Death Row Records security head Reggie Wright Jr. shared insights into the night of rapper Notorious B.I.G.'s tragic death. According to Wright, Bad Boy Records unexpectedly approached his firm for security services during their visit to California. This request seemed ill-considered, given Wright's established association with rival label Death Row. Wright’s account mentions how a former colleague, James McMichaels, brought the request to his attention. McMichaels's ties to the Inglewood Police Department led to local officers taking on security duties that night, albeit without the proper work permits. Wright speculated that these officers fled the scene without filing any formal police statements when the shooting occurred.
