Frank Gioia Jr. discussed his conviction, time in prison, and subsequent allegations involving a scam with Toby Keith-branded restaurants. Originally charged for his mafia-related activities, Gioia cooperated with authorities for six years, avoiding a life sentence but serving time nonetheless. Released under witness protection, he emerged as Frank Capri with a new identity.
Once Gioia transitioned to his new life in Arizona, he started in the car business before venturing into real estate and, eventually, the restaurant industry. Despite lacking a construction background, he managed to open 22 Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill locations, with more under-planned development. Accusations have since arisen, suggesting that the entire restaurant operation was built on fraudulent business practices involving inflated revenue claims and fictitious companies. Gioia is under supervised release, limiting his ability to discuss the case further, but he maintains that the ventures were legitimate.
