However, the rapper successfully disarmed the gunman during the ensuing struggle. The gunman was ultimately shot twice. Maino clarified that he never faced any charges, as the incident was deemed self-defense, and witnesses corroborated his account. Reflecting on his actions, Maino admitted that he wouldn't have reacted the same way today. At the time, he felt offended and provoked, which led to his instinctive response to defend himself.
