Initially, he faced a lengthy sentence, but after significant legal negotiations, he accepted a plea deal of 10 years and four months, an outcome heavily influenced by his decision to accept gun responsibilities, thereby reducing his co-defendants’ sentences. Reflecting on the tumultuous period, Sanchez acknowledges a precarious upbringing and tumultuous relationships, particularly with his father, which contributed to his arrest. In jail, Sanchez found himself navigating a complex social environment.
