Rashia Wilson, once dubbed the "First Lady of Tax Fraud," reflects on her unexpected feature in BET’s "American Gangster: Trap Queens" and serving 13 of a 21-year sentence. Wilson recounts her initial disbelief when BET approached her while she was incarcerated in 2017, offering her a platform to recount her story on her own terms, a rare opportunity she eagerly accepted. Filmed from within prison, her feature stood out, given that many of her fellow interviewees shared their stories from studios post-release. Her early release in 2025 came after significant legal changes granted her a reduction in her sentence. With newfound freedom, she plans to continue sharing her experiences and hopes to leverage her unique perspective in upcoming projects.
