--------
Former Baltimore detective Momodu Gondo shed light on disturbing misconduct within the police force during the 2015 Freddie Gray riots. While Gondo denied knowing the officers directly involved in Gray’s fatal arrest, he confirmed that police misconduct worsened after the protests erupted. Gondo revealed that some officers, initially tasked with preventing looting, later stole large quantities of substances from pharmacies and sold them to local dealers. This illicit activity was reportedly kept under wraps but eventually drew Federal investigations, including from the DEA and DOJ, into Gondo’s own unit. Gondo admitted to engaging in illegal acts himself, but stopped once he learned he was under surveillance.
