Former Army Ranger and Second Amendment advocate Nicholas Irving discusses his unwavering support for gun ownership, even amid tragedies like mass shootings. Irving, known as "The Reaper," emphasizes that he carries firearms constantly for personal and family protection. He elaborates that the Second Amendment was originally intended to protect citizens against tyranny, a purpose often overlooked today. Irving also supports arming responsible individuals, including some teachers, as a deterrent to school shootings. He argues that banning guns would mainly disarm law-abiding citizens while criminals would still find ways to obtain weapons. For Irving, possessing a firearm is about maintaining an "equalizer" rather than succumbing to helplessness.
