Former Army Ranger Nicholas Irving weighed in on Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas. Irving acknowledged the brutal reality of combating a terrorist ideology deeply embedded within civilian populations, where militants blend in without uniforms. He starkly stated that to eradicate such groups, "you’d have to kill everybody," underscoring the grim notion of mass casualties and even genocide. Yet, Irving criticized this approach, emphasizing the moral toll and long-term consequences, including the radicalization of future generations witnessing the violence. He pointed out the cycle of hatred perpetuated by civilian deaths in wars like Iraq and Afghanistan, cautioning that indiscriminate killing only fuels further animosity toward the U.S. and Israel.
