Lil Zay Osama opened up about his 2022 arrest in New York involving a Glock pistol equipped with a switch left in an Uber he rode. The rapper was attending Rolling Loud and doing interviews when the incident occurred. According to Lil Zay, the gun was not handled by him during the ride; he insists he never touched it. After leaving the car to attend an interview, the Uber driver reportedly discovered the modified firearm and alerted the police. Although initially charged with possession of a machine gun and felon in possession, Lil Zay clarified he was not a felon at the time, and the felony charge was dropped. He also highlighted that multiple traces of DNA were found on the weapon, not just his. Facing harsh New York gun laws and a $1 million bail, Lil Zay described the experience as confusing and frustrating but maintains his innocence regarding the weapon itself.
