Former U.S. Army sniper Nicholas Irving shared his blunt perspective on the toxic political climate, urging the public to stop viewing politicians as inherently good. Irving highlighted escalating tensions and animosity fueling violence and extremism, fueled by divisive rhetoric from both sides. He criticized how many people define their identities solely by political affiliation, leading to fanaticism similar to religious extremism. Irving condemned politicians and media figures for irresponsibly using inflammatory language that acts as a “match” sparking violence. He emphasized that while free speech is vital, inciting violence crosses a legal and moral line, and those responsible should be held accountable.
