In a recent interview, former Hells Angels member George Christie addressed claims about the club’s internal killings, including what is often described as the first internal murder of a member. The case involved Paul "German" Engel from the Oakland chapter in 1968, who was allegedly forced to ingest drugs by a six-man “kangaroo court” until he overdosed after being found guilty of burglary. Christie, however, expressed skepticism about the origins and accuracy of such stories, suggesting much of the information stems from informants or law enforcement speculation rather than verified facts.

Christie also referenced other infamous incidents, like the death of Stork, who police suspect was killed for planning to testify against fellow members. He emphasized that, while violence did occur within biker culture in the volatile 1970s, many narratives remain unclear due to secrecy and conflicting accounts.
