In an exclusive interview with VladTV, Hell Rell and JR Writer opened up about their absence from the iconic Dipset vs. The Lox Verzuz battle and why Dipset ultimately lost. Both confirmed they were involved behind the scenes but didn't participate on stage due to unresolved negotiations and scheduling conflicts. Hell Rell expressed some disappointment but respected the outcome, acknowledging The Lox’s chemistry and preparation were superior. DukeDaGod added that The Lox came in more cohesive, rehearsed, and supported by a phenomenal DJ, giving them a clear edge. JR Writer highlighted the importance of tracklisting and noted Cam’ron didn’t utilize some of his best records, which could have turned the tide. Despite Dipset’s bigger hits, their scattered approach contrasted with The Lox’s unity. Reflecting on the historic event, all agreed the battle was legendary for hip hop regardless of the winner. Hell Rell also praised French Montana’s early grind and networking skills, sharing respect for his rise in the industry.
