In a recent VladTV interview, 1090 Jake addressed the use of his past interviews as evidence in the YNW Melly murder trial, explaining that the prosecution unsuccessfully tried to use his videos—including one where he discusses prison gang affiliations—to link Melly to gang activity. Jake revealed these pieces of evidence were ultimately thrown out by the court, citing their lack of relevance and substance. The removal of gang enhancement charges significantly impacts the case, which has dragged on with multiple delays and a hung jury.
Jake also touched on co-defendant YNW Boylan’s plea deal, clarifying Boylan admitted only to transporting bodies, not involvement in the murders, and did not implicate Melly. With high-profile attorney Drew Findling now handling Melly’s defense, many controversial pieces of evidence have been dismissed, giving new momentum to Melly’s legal battle. The trial is set to resume in January 2027.
