Comedian DL Hughley recently shared a startling experience from early in his career, involving a man pulling a gun while he was performing on stage. Hughley recounted an incident at a club where two men got into a heated argument, and one suddenly brandished an AK-style gun and pulled the trigger—only for the clip to fall out harmlessly. The tension in the room instantly skyrocketed as the gun was thrown at the other man, sparking chaos but no injuries.

Hughley noted the surreal nature of the event, reflecting on how close it came to turning deadly. He also revealed a separate moment when an armed fan smashed his car window to steal his gun, only to recognize him as a comedian. These stories highlight the unpredictable and sometimes dangerous environments faced by performers early in their careers. Despite this, Hughley continues to favor revolvers over guns with clips, disliking the latter due to these experiences.
