Former Army Ranger and author Nicholas Irving recently shared his blunt views on American society and politics in an interview. Irving expressed skepticism toward the State of the Union address, dismissing it as theatrical and largely meaningless. On healthcare, he agreed with former President Trump’s harsh critique of Obamacare, acknowledging that many Americans struggle with unaffordable insurance and that the Affordable Care Act failed to deliver on its promises.
Irving also voiced concerns about the declining educational standards in America. “The average kid nowadays is stupid,” he said, lamenting that most young people do not read enough and have poor literacy levels. He criticized a culture that seems to reward entertainment over intelligence or productivity and worried about the future of the nation. His unfiltered commentary highlights growing frustrations among veterans and citizens alike over politics, healthcare, and education in the U.S.
