In a candid VladTV interview, Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda opened up about signing with legendary label Ruff Ryders under extraordinary circumstances. At the time, he was on the run for an alleged shooting and evading police for about eight months. Despite these challenges, Uncle Murda caught the attention of the Ruff Ryders while listening to their music on the radio. After impressing the team, including DMX (referred to as "D" during the talk), he inked a deal reportedly worth $10,000 plus “some guns,” reflecting the gritty reality of his lifestyle back then.
Though the contract was somewhat informal, more of an agreement built on mutual respect, Uncle Murda dropped tracks with Ruff Ryders mostly via mixtapes. The deal didn’t last long, and Uncle Murda eventually resolved legal troubles related to the shooting. Today, he focuses on being a positive role model for his five children, committed to leaving his turbulent past behind.
