One evening after a party, Ricky was approached by a man and a woman who forced him at gunpoint into a car. However, when the man momentarily let his guard down, Ricky seized the weapon, wrestled it away, and disarmed him. During the struggle outside the car, the woman fired multiple shots, but thankfully no one was hit. The attackers vanished before any help arrived, despite a helicopter search nearby.

Ricky also recounted that kidnappings were alarmingly common in the area during that era, often tied to violent drug-related disputes. Victims faced brutal torture, and reporting incidents to police was nearly impossible without risking exposure of illicit activities.
