--------
In a candid interview, Dawgface shared the harrowing experience of getting shot while attempting to rob a group outside a gambling joint in Pontiac at just 14 years old. Growing up with a mother addicted to drugs, he initially hated drug dealers and turned to robbery at a young age, idolizing historical outlaws like Jesse James and Bonnie and Clyde. His first pistol, a .38 revolver, gave him confidence, but one robbery did not go as planned. Confronting a group shooting dice outside Gabby's, a local gambling spot, Dawgface pulled out his gun but was met with defiance rather than fear. As he struggled to assert control, one man unexpectedly pulled a gun and shot him through the jacket, hitting his side. Despite the injury, Dawgface escaped on his bike and was taken to the hospital by his still-alert mother. Reflecting on the incident, he acknowledges the complexities of robbery as an “art form” and admits his youthful persistence despite frequent arrests.
