Irving emphasized that Special Ops teams intentionally recruit men with backgrounds far from traditional or “suit-and-tie†profiles, seeking those with hardened, even criminal-like traits. “They look for guys who can break every rule and feel nothing about it,†he said, underscoring the blend of psychopathic tendencies and social civility necessary to succeed in the most demanding combat roles.
