43:22Now PlayingAlthough the climate crisis is the defining issue of their generation, many young people are not taken seriously when it comes to finding solutions. In the weeks leading up to the UN's climate change conference (COP26) in November, Doha Debates is bringing back #DearWorldLive for a fourth season that focuses on solutions to the climate crisis. This season kicks off in Milan, where leaders are gathering for preparatory meetings ahead of COP26. In this special in-person episode, we explore why those most affected by the climate crisis are often the least heard, and how we can ensure that young people's voices, raised in outrage, reach global decision makers. The episode is hosted by Nelufar Hedayat, who is joined by Jayathma Wickramanayake, the UN Secretary-General's envoy on youth; Kathleen Rogers, president of Earth Day Network; Neeshad Shafi, co-founder and executive director of the Arab Youth Climate Movement; and Lina Al-Tarawneh, co-founder of the Qatari-based environmental nonprofit Green Mangroves.
In each episode this season, #DearWorldLive will carve out time and space for activists to engage directly with established thinkers, writers and policymakers in the climate conversation.
