Authority to cast out demons is not what you think!

Many people claim that Jesus gave us authority to cast out demons, like he did with a disciples and apostles. They point to Luke 9:49-50 as their prooftext, where Jesus rebukes John for complaining that a stranger was casting out demons in Jesus’ name.
