Shockingly, some professing Christians are starting to use breath work meditations for “manifestation.” Breathwork is even being offered in classes at Christian women’s retreats, and in formerly conservative ministries as we discuss in this video.
Marcia Montenegro of Christian Answers for the New Age describes how Bible verses are twisted to try to justify these pagan methods. They might seem to work, and even may have some scientific journal backing, but the spiritual dangers of breath work meditations (including trances from hyperventilating) put them in the “mark and avoid” category, especially since the Bible never promotes breathwork, condemns sorcery, exhorts us to be alert & sober-minded, and offers Scriptural ways to reduce anxiety.
