A lot of people today think if they can just find the right app, the right protocol, or the right routine, they’ll finally feel less lonely or less anxious.

But there are some human problems that cannot be solved by more optimization.

We already spend so much of modern life living out of the left hemisphere of the brain: analyzing, achieving, organizing, staring at screens, trying to control and optimize everything.

But the deepest parts of human life live largely in the right hemisphere: love, friendship, beauty, presence, and faith. And you cannot get to the right hemisphere by going further and further left.
