Of note .. there is a great comment after this video from Dave Martin: He asked about the blood glucose monitor that I use...
Here was my answer:
Dave .. I did use the Mojo for a while. I was "hypnotized" by the price of their strips too.
But let me tell you ... I had it.
There were so many times it took 2-4 ketone strips to get the meter to run my number. It would error out due to time or not enough blood. Man ... it really made me mad.
The average cost per strip is important to look at .. but it is equally important that the quality of the strips/ machine are such that you actually get results when you poke yourself.
I have had my diabetics rave about the FORACARE brand for years.
I bought one of those. It tests the glucose and the ketones in one machine .. and BAM! It works.
It is solid numbers and it also takes a smaller amount of blood than the Mojo. I know their strips are a little more per strip . . .but you only have to use ONE. I should have started by listening to my patients. They've been telling me FORACARE was the meter all along. I got hypnotized by the cheaper strips. Lesson learned.

Another common question: "Doc, which Ketones-In-A-Can (aka exogenous ketones, BHB) do you recommend?"
EXOGENOUS KETONES BHBDr Boz BHB(affiliate link)
I don't recommend these in everyone. I have times this is a great solution for my patients that are very overweight and trying to get used to burning ketones for fuel. All keto supplements should have magnesium in them. This one does.
I own this Dr Boz brand and the Dr Boz supplements.
