Surgeon: UnitedHealth stopped my cancer patient's surgery to question her insurance coverage... while she was on the operating table. After her viral video - in which the insurer refuses to provide their names (due to Luigi Mangione) - Dr. Elisabeth Potter received legal threats and now faces bankruptcy. Dr. Drew says this isn't new: when he fought for better care for a patient, their insurance threatened to drop the entire hospital from coverage.

In a statement, a spokesperson from insurer told Daily Mail: "There are no insurance related circumstances that would require a physician to step out of surgery... We did not ask nor would ever expect a physician to interrupt patient care to answer a call."
