Child star Shaun Weiss (The Mighty Ducks) is trying to save Tylor Chase of Ned's Declassified from homelessness and meth addiction - but California law keeps putting him back on the street. Shaun tells Dr Drew how his own meth use nearly wrecked his life in 2019, when he appeared unrecognizable in paparazzi pics during the worst of his addiction. Dr. Drew explains how meth blocks judgement and awareness -- making street users experience a near-dementia state called anosognosia, entirely unaware of how badly they need treatment. But instead of helping the gravely disabled, California's leaders -- and especially those in Los Angeles -- have chosen soft-on-crime policies that simply release addicts to immediately return to drug use and violence.
