- ADHD and LGBTQ - Is There a Connection?:
A number of surveys have found increased rates of LGB sexual orientation and trans gender identity among those with ADHD. Having one variety of neurodiversity increases the likelihood of being multiply neurodivergent. Awareness of these connections are important for both individuals and for researchers.
- Stimulant Withdrawal:
When stimulant medications wear off, many individuals experience a crash in focus, energy and mood. Long acting agents often leave receptors more gradually, diminishing the likelihood of adverse withdrawal reactions.
- The Importance of Siesta Time for Mental Health:
Humans have a normal lull in alertness and ability to concentrate in the early afternoon - irrespective of whether they have a large midday meal, or any midday meal. Expectations that medications should work uniformly well across the day often fail to account for siesta time.
