A handful of studies have found that children with ADHD outperform neurotypical children at detecting smells. If substantiated, this would be one clear example of those with ADHD outperforming “normal” individuals on an objective neurophysiological measure. Some researchers think this is difference might be robust enough to use a biological marker for ADHD.
