UK Lawyer Breaks Down War Crimes Case Against British Citizens in Israeli Army

Barrister Franck Magennis, part of the legal team that submitted a 240-page war crimes dossier to UK police, lays out the case for prosecuting ten British citizens who served in the Israeli military. The report includes allegations of targeted killings, attacks on hospitals, and forced displacement in Gaza.

Magennis describes Israel’s military as a racialized force built on apartheid and colonial logic, and says the UK cannot ignore its citizens’ participation in mass atrocity.

“If the crimes that have been found proven against them are serious enough,” Magennis says, “they will serve time in prison — and that will serve as an example to any British person thinking about going to serve in the colonial military of an apartheid state while it massacres Palestinian children.”
