The strike has been announced by the Unione Sindacale di Base (USB) with USB, CUB, ADL, and SGB unions also participating, and demanding an end to Italian arms sales to Israel, sanctions, and a new foreign policy approach that prioritizes stopping the genocide.
➤ Trains, buses, taxis, ports, and schools are shut down across the country – with only air travel mostly running as normal.
➤ Unions are linking Gaza solidarity to broader social justice and labor demands, calling for housing investment, welfare expansion, and better workplace safety.
➤ Rallies and blockades are underway in ports of Genoa and Salerno, and also Rome, Milan, and other cities, demonstrating broad popular support for ending the genocide and backing Palestinian rights.
