Using demographic modeling, household surveys and death reports from social media, scientists say the ministry likely undercounts by 35–41 percent, especially women, older people and those buried under rubble.
Their mid-range estimate: 112,069 Palestinians killed in the first two years of war. About 27 percent were children.
