The Palestinian Tribal and Clan Council says the past several weeks have seen “large quantities of narcotics” smuggled into Gaza in what it described as “the occupation’s malicious and repeated attempts to target the home front.” The Council said Israeli-backed militias were running gangs dedicated to pushing drugs from “Rafah to the north.”

While Israel facilitates the flow of drugs, the Council says it “prevents the entry of a sufficient number of aid trucks” and continues a policy of starving the population.

The Council believes these operations are not incidental but part of “multiple methods aimed at drowning society, destroying its fabric, and striking its moral and social foundations, in a systematic war targeting Palestinian youth, the backbone of the future.”

It calls the fight against this wave of narcotics a “national and moral obligation” that demands unified action and vigilance across families, institutions, and authorities. Anyone involved in smuggling or distribution, it says, is committing “a national betrayal that harms the security and values of society.”

Previous reports by various Arabic outlets, including Ultra Palestine in June, documented Israel’s introduction of “massive amounts of the most dangerous drugs through various new methods,” as it deprived civilians of food, medicine, and essentials. Earlier, during the ongoing genocide, authorities in Gaza said they found Oxycodone pills inside flour sacks distributed at U.S.-run aid centers.
