YouTube Description
as posted by the channelOn January 26, 2026, the Trump administration stunned Wall Street by proposing nearly flat reimbursement rates for private Medicare Advantage plans in 2027, far below the 4–6% increases investors had expected. Shares of major insurers, including UnitedHealth, Humana, and CVS, fell by double digits.
One month earlier, Republican Rep. Kevin Hern, who represents Oklahoma in the House and sits on the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health, sold his entire position in UnitedHealth ($UNH), a major Medicare Advantage provider, valued between $250,000 and $500,000.
Drop Site’s Julian Andreone asked the Oklahoma lawmaker what factors he considered in making the timely trade.
“You need to talk to my guy that’s been doing my stuff for about 13 years now,” Hern said. He added that he had “no idea” about the sale and said a Tulsa-based firm manages his portfolio and has “not at all” discussed his congressional work with him.
Forbes previously reported that Hern’s spokesperson said he has “no involvement” in trades made by the Hern Family Trust and that all transactions are handled by a longtime financial advisor.
