YouTube Description
as posted by the channelJess Craven, a political content creator who has been outspoken about government surveillance of Americans and the upcoming FISA reauthorization vote, said Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, has been fearmongering about terrorist attacks in response to criticism of FISA.
Specifically, the congressman has warned of “devastating” effects if a “clean” FISA reauthorization were to fail, presenting “grave damage” and “peril” to our national security and putting “the American people at severe risk.”
Craven said Himes’s arguments have been in bad faith—“disingenuous at best and dishonest at worst”—given Section 702 of FISA was already renewed through March 2027 last month.
The congressman also said, “the NSA, the CIA, the DIA, doesn’t [buy data],” even though NSA themselves admitted to purchasing data in 2024.
When Himes reached out to Craven for a meeting, she told Drop Site she refused to take it.
