Prices jumped over 20 cents in one week and are up roughly $1.08 month-over-month.
Analysts say prices are likely to stay elevated and continue to rise as long as geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions persist.
Drop Site’s Jeremy Scahill told Democracy Now Iran is not going to fold and that it is “Trump who has the clock, with sweat increasingly pouring down his face.” Scahill reported that a senior Iranian official told him the most likely long-term scenario is not a major deal but a continued low-intensity tension — with Iran believing time is on its side.
