Capitol Hill Reacts: Bill to Deny Funding to Universities Divesting from Israel

"Let's leave universities alone."

A bill coming up for a vote in the House would deny federal funding to any university that chooses to divest from Israel, Israeli companies, or Israeli institutions — including those in the occupied West Bank and settlements.

Drop Site's Julian Andreone asked members of Congress whether there is any constitutional standing for a bill that makes federal funding contingent on a university's investment decisions.
