God uses types and shadows in the Old Testament to foreshadow the cross, emphasizing that the mystery of salvation was hidden from Satan but revealed to believers.
Exodus 12 demonstrates how God instituted the Passover Meal to foreshadow Christ's sacrifice. The imagery of eating the lamb and applying its blood speaks to how we must internalize Christ's sacrifice and allow it to cover every aspect of our lives. The blood of the innocent lamb protected the Israelites from judgment, just as Christ's blood covers us now.
