Our old identity is shaped by three primary influences: a short-term identity rooted in family, a long-term identity inherited from Adam and the human race, and our ultimate, true identity, which is discovered only in Christ. While fleshly identities produce guilt, condemnation, fear, and defeat, being born again places us in the family of God—righteous, forgiven, and empowered.
By being born again, we leave behind Adam's curses and step into the victorious and righteous life that Christ offers. This revelation brings clarity in an age of identity confusion and explains why living after the flesh leads to death, while living as a new creation produces victory.
