Luigi Mangione, Suspect in CEO Murder, Pleads Not Guilty to State Charges
Monday morning, December 23rd, 2024, Luigi Mangione entered a not-guilty plea to 11 state charges that could keep him behind bars for the rest of his life. The arraignment took place in Manhattan Supreme Court, where Mangione, was shackled hand and feet, stood before Judge Gregory Carro.
Mangione's defense attorney, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, voiced strong concerns about her client’s right to a fair trial. She criticized the highly publicized, cinematic nature of the perp walk.
As this controversial case continues, tensions rise over the treatment of the accused, as well as the role of public officials like Mayor Eric Adams, who was present at the dramatic perp walk despite his own legal troubles.
