Women in southeastern Bangladesh are now using particularly robust rice and vegetable varieties to ensure plentiful harvests, a part of which they can sell to make extra money. The participation of women in agricultural work is by no means a common sight in Bangladesh. Women take care of their families in this maledominated society and usually don't appear in public. But Bangladesh, one of the world's poorest countries and hard hit by global warming, needs the support of women to fight and adapt to climate change.
